Sustainability = Responsibility
Every Sunday State Swimwear piece is handmade to order in Toronto, Canada.
By cutting out wholesalers, manufacturers, suppliers and distributors, we are shortening the supply chain so we can control the beginning to end life of each piece. We are cutting down the use of fuel and machinery to create and transport, reducing greenhouse gases and waste.
The fashion industry's practices are notoriously unsustainable, so that's why we believe it is important for every brand (both the big guys and lil' ones like ours) to take full responsibility for their products and the impact they have on our planet.
About Our Materials
Wherever possible, we are committed to sourcing sustainable materials from local small & Black-owned businesses.
Our fabric
Our packaging
Our fabric is sourced from Italy and is made of a soft, buttery and luxurious ECONYL® blend. ECONYL® is made from regenerated nylon waste, reusing fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic. ECONYL® is used by high-end brands including Girlfriend Collective, Adidas, Prada, and Vitamin A Swim. When blended with just the right amount of spandex, we get a high quality, stretchy yet supportive fabric that we use to make your swim! Our fabric is highly resistant to damage from sunlight, chlorine, and sun oils + lotions.
Your swim will be shipped to you in a 100% compostable mailer made from plants. Not only is our packaging sustainable, it's cute AF (because why not have both?). We source our packaging from Better Packaging Co., a carbon neutral company on a mission to design out waste. Besides the shipping label envelope, all other materials we use can be recycled.
Charity Donations
For every Sunday State Swimwear purchase we will be donating 10% of proceeds to a charity of your choosing.
